(USA), is Professor of Sociology,
Peking University. He has
published some articles in
English and several books in
Chinese. His works include

Ethnicity and Social Development
(Beijing: Press of Nationality,
2001), Applied Studies of
Sociology (Beijing: Huaxia
Press, 2002), and Sociology of
Ethnicity: Sociological Study
of Ethnic Relations (Beijing:
Peking University Press, 2004).
His research interest has focused
on ethnic relations, migration,
education and rural development.
He is currently organizing a
national research project on
