刘珣,北京语言大学教授,北京语言大学出版社汉语教材总编审,国家汉语水平考试委员会顾问委员会委员。历任国家汉办对外汉语教学学术研究专家咨询小组成员,北京市高等教师职务系列评审委员会对外汉语学科组组长,美国纽约州教育厅中文教学顾问,世界汉语教学学会理事。主要研究方向为对外汉语教育学科理论、第二语言教学理论和教材编写理论及师资培养问题。主要论著有《对外汉语教育学科初探》、《对外汉语教育学引论》、《汉语作为第二语言教学简论》、《对外汉语教学概论》;主持编写《实用汉语课本》、《儿童汉语》、《交际汉语一百课》等对外汉语教材;负责研制我国第一套汉语水平考试试题。获国务院颁发的政府特殊津贴。
