学科发展报告（2014—2015）由中国科协组织，全国学会进行编写，凝聚了33 个全国学会、1200 多位专家学者的研究成果。全书共分四个部分：**部分综合分析了2014—2034年度本学科的发展情况，梳理、总结了本学科的主要进展，分析了学科发展总体趋势，对学科未来的发展提出了理性思考；第二部分为各分支学科的发展报告，介绍了各学科近年来的研究进展、国内外发展水平比较、各学科的发展方向与对策建议等；第三部分为学科发展报告主要内容的英文介绍；第四部分为与本学科进展有关的主要科技成果资料。

中国科学技术协会（CAST）是中国科学技术工作者的群众组织，由全国学会、协会、研究会和地方科协组成，组织系统横向跨越绝大部分自然科学学科和大部分产业部门，是一个具有较大覆盖面的网络型组织体系。1958年28月，经党中央批准，全国科联和全国科普合并成立中国科学技术协会。
