经典美语-美国连任总统演说赏读-(修订版) 本书特色
《经典美语：美国连任总统演说赏读（修订版）》在**版的基础上作出了以下改进：
首先，对总体布局进行了调整，将原来的上下两篇扩充为上、中、下三篇，这样更有利于教师组织课堂教学。上篇为“词与词汇量”，重点讨论了词的定义、特征、种类以及词汇量的测定；中篇为“经典演说赏读”，这些演说均为21位历任美国连任总统的代表性演说，其中包括词组、段落和句子的赏读；下篇为“词语经典用法”，其中包括十三大名词、十二大动词、八大形容词、七大副词、四大代词、三大连词和三大介词的经典用法。
其次，补充了新的演说，从而囊括了美国历史上出现的历届连任总统，使得本书的内容更为完备。新增加的连任美国总统分别为theodore roosevelt, calvin coolidge, harry truman, lyndon johnson和barack obama。
*后，压缩了上一版中的内容，使得全书更为精练、更为经典。压缩的内容包括：(1)每位连任总统(除franklin roosevelt之外)，只选取其代表性的一篇演说，多余的删除；(2)压缩每篇演说中相关板块的内容，其中“hard nuts to crack”中的词语*多保留25个，“classic phrases”10项，“classic sentences”10个，“classic paragraphs”两段，“quotes from the president”15个；(3)压缩“词语经典用法”中的内容，其中的每个词语的用法*多保留20个，每个词语相关的谚语保留20个。

经典美语-美国连任总统演说赏读-(修订版) 作者简介
肖福寿，上海大学外国语学院教授，哈佛大学高级访问学者。1984年获山东大学英语学士学位，1996年获西南师范大学英语硕士学位，2001年获南京大学英语语言学博士学位。
多年以来一直从事英语语言和应用语言学的教学和研究工作。已出版《美国总统就职演说赏析》（2009）、《英语写作教学的原则与策略》（2007)、《语域特征与英文写作》（2003）、《英语写作案例教程》（2004）、《新视野大学英语视听说教程1》（2004）、《二十一世纪大学英语视听说教程2》等十多部专著与教程；在国内外重要刊物上发表了“A Study of Collocations Used by Tertiary-level Chinese EFL Learners"(2006)等二十多篇论文；主持和参与了八项国家级和市级科研项目；曾获七项国家级和省部级奖励，其中包括“四川省优秀教师”（1993）、“全国邮电系统优秀青年知识分子”（1996）、“全国宝钢优秀教师奖”（2007）和“上海市优秀教学成果奖”二等奖（2009）。
